Getting a Visa for South Korea

It’s been almost a month since I have written anything on my blog. The demands of a new role:)! Anway, I will be posting a guide in getting a South Korea visa for folks who are here in Cebu like me which means we dont have an option, unless of course you want to travel to Manila in getting the visa.

First, find a reputable agency which will charge you the fairly standard amount for a Korean visa. I got mine from Hope Tours near Jones and Im loving them! They charged me Php 1500.00, the lowest and fairly reasonable amount in town for a Korean visa. I made some inquiries in other travel agencies and so far no one has beaten their price. Travelmate agencies even charged an extra 5,000 for getting their freakin service, crazy and super expensive agency, dont go near it! Hehehe.

Prepare all the documents which will be asked for you by the agency. Download the application form from the official site of Korean Embassy and make sure when you print it out, it’s back to back. Below are the documents you need to prepare if you are currently employed in the Phil soil:

1. 2 ID pictures
2. COE with your tenure and salary with the company.
3. Bank certificate stating the amount of moolahs that you have in your account. I got mine from BPI and they charged me 150 for it.
4. Printed copies of your previous visas, if any.
5. Hotel booking and confirmation in SK.
6. Plane tickets with arrival and departure dates.
7. Passport! 😀

I think we have covered all the bases for those who are currently employed. Make sure you filled out everything and submitted your complete documents to the agency. If you plan to do DIY in Manila, just make sure you have all the necessary documents. Failure to bring just one will result in automatic decline and reapplication for a visa is only after 3 months (I think, not so sure).

Give them to your preferred agency with hope and prayers. They will give you a call after 2 weeks or so to inform you if your visa was approved. Congrats if you make it then, it’s time for you to see the land of kimchi and Kpop! 😉

Enjoy traveling! 😉
